What blog.haheng.au collects, which third parties are involved, and how to opt out.

This page describes what blog.haheng.au collects and why. It applies to every page on the site.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which articles people read. GA4 sets cookies only after you accept them in the banner. If you reject, analytics cookies are not set — the site still works, and page views are counted server-side in a way that identifies no one: an IP address is combined with a secret salt and hashed, and only the hash is stored, so the address itself is never written down.

Advertising

Advertising is served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies to measure and personalise ads. With consent rejected, ads are served non-personalised. Google's own explanation of the data it processes is in its partner-sites policy.

Comments

Posting a comment stores the name and comment text you submit, plus a salted hash of your IP address for abuse control, kept for 90 days. Email is optional; if given, only a salted hash is stored — the address itself is never written to disk, and the site sends no email.

Anti-spam

Comment submissions are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which receives your IP address and browser characteristics to distinguish people from bots.

Your choices

Change your cookie decision at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer. Blocking cookies in your browser also works — nothing on this site requires them.
